neatly formatted form results to email - unbelievable - 1/19/2005 7:33:34
Hi All
I'd like to share a find with you. Both a coder and his code.
I'm a web designer in South Australia - Just about every site I write uses forms in one way or another.
My clients were complaining about the results coming out of Front Page form wizard. I spent hours on the web trying to find a way to get form results sent to their intended recipients in a neatly formatted email without coding each form.
I finally threw my dummy in the dirt [after spending hours on Google and front page forums trying to find an answer] and went to rent a coder where I had an ASP script written.
The script comes with a formmail.asp, template.asp, an xml file and and a sample.asp file.
Formmail.asp handles the sending
template.asp allows you to format the e-mail - includes header, content, and footer.
xml file picks up the form field names and allows you to call them anything you like - eg field name might be called "phone" but the xml file allows it to be called customer's home phone number.
sample.asp is a simple form layout that you can edit with front page. It's already setup to push results to the formmail script.
The script handles drop down multiple selections, text boxes, standard fields and check boxes. Those are the only ones I've used so far
The coder is a gentleman named Ray Parker. His e-mail is cell2@newmail.ru Cost was reasonable at 40.00 US bearing in mind that this is a script that you can use for every site you write with a contact form.
I'd like to push Ray's work as his support and coding were first class so if you want an easy to use script that overcomes the front page form wizard shortcomings and delivers a formatted results page direct to your client's email send him an email.
Hope Spooky puts this in the newsletter

This forum is truly informative
Ever since I bought Spooky login and started receiving the outfront newsletter I have had a vague suspicion that Spooky and Thomas were one and the same
You guys have solved the issue for me and from now on I'm going to sleep well at night now that you have set my mind at ease
At the risk of continuing your atrocious puns I do feel a little sheepish about my misconceptions about Spooky's indentity
And thank you Thomas for adding my post to the newsletter. Ray has reported a great deal of interest in the formmail script and looks like selling quite a few baaa - ring complications.
