discussion forum crap - 4/2/2001 13:00:00
I am getting so freakin ticked off at FrontPage. We have discussion forums and let me tell you all of what this is doing wrong. First, when you make a post, it doesn't put the new post at the top of the list. Second, for some reason it will arbitrarily insert " " about 10,000 times making my table of contents stretch out for 7 times longer with huge amounts of space in between the links. Has anyone ever heard of this and what can I do to correct it?

I have seen lots of wierd things happen with the disc groups are placed within the root web. This practice causes some issues with file sharing, and bad things usually result.

FP disc groups should always exist as separate subwebs. When you create them, the wizard gives you the option of going newest to oldest or oldest to newest. This works with subwebs, but it doesn't work if you are trying to ad the disc group to the root, and you have previously added a disc group with the other ordering rule.

Take a look here for more on subwebs.
