Missing hover buttons FP 2003 - 1/22/2005 8:59:08
Hello
I up-graded from FP 2000 to FrontPage 2003 when I got my new computer. The first time I made a change and published web, all went well. Several days latter I made a small text only change and viewed in FrontPage browser. The hover buttons on the left side of my Home page as well as all the other pages were not there, only a rectangular box with a red “X” in corner. I published web and got the message that up-load was good. I viewed my site ( ctdovetaildesigns.com ) on my computer and changes were there, but hover buttons were same as when viewed in FrontPage. I went to web site on my wife’s computer and hover buttons were OK and navigation around site was good. So I know it’s something in my computer/FrontPage, I think. I am using Windows XP Home that came with Service Pack 2 installed. Anyone know what could be going on.
I know there are a lot of sites that I visit that “Service Pack 2” won’t open photos with out my consent, but then again, I had no problems with my old system and it was same as my current system, ie it had Windows XP Home that I installed “Service Pack 2” as an up-date from MS download site.

Your computer is OK. FrontPage discontinued Hover Buttons with the release of 2003 due to inherent stability problems.
You can rebuild buttons several ways. An inexpensive, intuitive add-in that will give you a more sophisticated effect with more options is www.flashation.com . Free trial as I recall.
