Frontpage 2K: NavBar Missing+HitCounter Fails - 4/3/2001 13:55:00
[Problem#1] Using Frontpage 2K on 256K NT4 development server, I can see horizontal navigation bar component in "Normal", "HTML" and "preview". Can see it as ".../htdocs/Default.htm" or ".../htdocs/_borders/left.htm" in all modes. I can see the file when I can telnet and browse to its HTML page. But when I publish it, it disappears from the Default.htm webpage. Also, [Problem#2] cannot reset HitCounter component and make it stick after publication.

Any chance we can see your site? It might help us figure out what's going on.To reset the hit counter, you need to open your site "live" on the server. To do this, click on file/open web and type the url in the folder name box. Swirl ------------------ Never stand between a dog and a tree.

My guess is that you're not doing a standard FP publish File > Publish Web.Another possiblity is that your destination web wound up with two or more copies of your home page. The local web uses the right one, and the destination web could be using the wrong one. If the web is not currently live, I would just delete everything from the destination site, and start over with File > Publish Web. If that's not an option, then I would open the live web in FP the same way you open a local web File > Open Web > type in http://www.url.com Then go to navigation view. I'm guessing that you would see a home page with nothing under it in the flow chart. You could just rebuild the flow chart there.
