Nav Bar in the RIght Shared Border - 4/3/2001 13:58:00
Can you put a FP Navigation bar in the Right Shared Border? When I try it, none of the "child" pages have the nav bar.... Am I doing something wrong, or is this a built-in limitation?

Did you apply the shared border to all pages, or just the one you were working on?

Yes, I applied it to all pages, but nothing shows up in the "child" pages -- it's like there's no content in the "included page".... Weird! I'm experimenting elsewhere to see what happens.

This might be a simple question, but did you set up the pages in the navigation view? That's where FP pulls the nav information from for the nav bar.

Double click on the nav bar and make sure it's set for "child pages." Maybe it's set for "same level?"

The FP navigation typically is available only in the top or left shared borders.

You can create the left shared border, set your navigation the way you want it, then, in normal view, with the entire navigation still highlighted drag it over to the right shared border.

You can then remove the left shared border from your pages, but be sure to maintain your navigation view.

You will loose a couple of nice things when you do this, like... open pages will not be the active link color, all pages will be the regular link color.
