I like the way you folks think. I never thought of it as them basically running over copyright law and then dictating but that is exactly what they do when you put it that way. One thing I wonder about is the lack of accountability on their part. They have the ability to manipulate and dictate with so much unbrideled power. Yes, they provide a free service, with natural results anyway, but they make a heck of a lot of money off of us and for that they should show more consideration in the way they conduct themselves. For example, Florida put many good quality merchants with good quality sites out of business and that makes me wonder if there should be some accountability on their part? Sadly it takes so long for people to realize such things and gravitate away from these behemouths and diversify. But many people are waking up to the various technological monopolies as evidenced by increasing diversity in engines, browsers, OS's and so forth, so maybe there is hope? As far as serps, I guess we can just try to consider all options, diversify as much as possible, and not count on any one or two giants to make our living. Thank heaven we at least have a few big dogs with big wallets in the game and hope that we benefit in their efforts to out do each other. I am going to open a thread on local search seo and see what happens. Frank
