2 tricky questions - 4/7/2001 20:07:00
I need help please with 2 problems:-

1. Is there a slick way of inserting a message box or page containing a message saying "Please wait whilst page is loading". This would precede the loading of a Frontpage HTM document which contains an embedded Excel Pivot table. The problem is that when I click to access the page, it take about 20 seconds to spring to life and present the table. If I had a message asking the user to wait until the page is loaded then this will save frustration.

2. How do you arrange for MS Web Components in MSOWC.CAB to be downloaded to a client PC that if the client PC does not have them already installed from Office 2000? Where does the CAB file need to be on the web server and what tweeks are needed on Frontpage/IE.

Any help is much appreciated.

Problem #1
You can use an include page to put your message up without causing even more slow down to your site. Create a page, with the message on the top and the include page below the message.

Problem#2
You don't have to make anything download to a site visitors PC to make any of the FP web components work. If they are using a noncompliant browser, they will not see everything as you want and some things not at all, but you can't do anything about that. Folks choose thier browser and we just have to live with it.
