vertical navigation button text/making text fit within ... - 4/8/2001 21:04:00
I am trying to fit the text, which is the description of my products, within the navigaion buttons. On normal view or preview, it will show the text being wrapped into 2 lines, allowing all of the text to fit within the button. However, when the site is previewed in the browser or upoloaded to the sight, the text is getting cut off. I've tried everything, and have had no success. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Matt -

When using nav buttons, it'll use the page names from the navigation view. You'll need to change the names here to shorten them up.

Nav bars will not wrap the text to another line; they'll just extend out like you have found. I'm a bit confused by the fact that it is wrapping for you in normal and preview modes, as I've never seen it do that (but haven't tried in a couple years, so I guess that doesn't mean anything ). Go with what it's showing with "preview in browser".

Linda

ps - if you need to have the longer name on two lines, you'll need to make individual graphics instead of using the nav bar. If you want the mouseover effects on them, check the links at www.outfront.net/FAQ.htm

You can modify the theme you are using and make larger buttons if it is practical in your situation.
