Published links did not update - point to test web - 4/9/2001 22:19:00
Developed a new web site on the same server as the soon-to-be-replaced site. Unfortunately, almost all links to other pages and documents within the site point back to the development site that the development was performed on. What has gone wrong, how can the damage be repaired and what can be done to prevent this in the future. These two mentioned sites are webs on our intranet (along with 30 or so other webs under the major site).

that happens to me all the time, always pointing to my hard drive. I believe recalculating links helps, not sure though, won't hurt to try.------------------ Brandon's Poetry Corner "Good artists copy, great artists steal" - Picasso (originally), Bill Gates, and Steve Jobs "Bother," said Pooh as his breaks went out.

Open your web and go to tools> recaculate hyperlinks... FP2000, not sure about other versions though. It might/should correct them, but who knows.

Sorry, MysticNight, but this did not work. Any other ideas ??? The odd thing is that a small selection of pages have had correct linkages to the live web pages but the majority do not. Also, there are correct and incorrect links on the same page in one instance....Hoping there is a solution somewhere short of manually updating several hundred links ! ------------------ Kim
