Scaling pages - 4/10/2001 23:38:00
Does anyone know of a script that will auotmatically adjust or scale the page so that it is viewable in different screen resolutions? Not a script that redirects to a different page, but one that actually makes the pages look the same whether in 600 x 800 or 640 x 480 or 1024 x 768? Please help.

I don't think that is available, it would require a rewrite of the page after a browser check.

Besides monitor resolution, you also need to take into account the browser text size and different possible window sizes. Many people using IE will keep the search, favorites, or history open to the left of the viewable window, some use a full screen for viewing, some keep windows smaller sized.

If you want to keep that in mind while designing, using tables with percentage instead of fixed widths are the way to go. It won't look the same in each res, but will "flow" into the window size available.

btw - I realize that doesn't answer your question, but just in case you or someone else didn't know.
