Custom ASP Confirmation page(s) - 4/11/2001 20:35:00
Thought this very interesting and thought I'd pass this along.

Have been struggling with a custom ASP Confirmation page for about a week now. I checked all the "boards" and basically everyone agrees the default FrontPage confirmation sucks. SO after a little research the bottom line was to create a custom "confirmation" page. This was basically easy, except everyone continued to forget to mention the "page" extension. While true that you have to make sure the Server extensions on the WEB host are upgraded to SR1a, this does no good if your custom Confirmation page has the improper file extension.

Well, after an hour on the phone with the Microsoft FrontPage and Server Extension support teams, I was no further along. They assigned a case number and said I would hear back from the research team within 24 hours.

Gladly, the story didn't end here. I received a call back in less than a half hour and it was the original tech. He asked what file extension I was using, "htm" for the custom confirmation page. He said that they discussed among themselves and asked me to try an "asp" extension. Guess what it worked.

Long story and short solution, Watch those file extensions.

Spooky

The latest server extensions are an improvement, but it would be nice to see full webbot / asp functionality in the next version for sure!
