Using ling to jump down page - 2/7/2005 18:49:00
Hi
Im new to web building tho experienced in video editing. In Front page how do you set links that when clicked on jump down to the matching heading and subject on the same page instead of making a new page for each paragraph? Thanks

wizrdman,

Bookmarks will jump from one location to another on the same page, or from one page to any bookmarked location in another page on the same site.

To link to a bookmark on current page:

>>select text or graphic to be bookmarked >> Insert >> Bookmark >> OK (bookmarked text or graphic will display with dotted underlines). Then select the text or graphic that will become the bookmark clickable and >>Insert >> Hyperlink >>select bookmark to which the hyperlink should jump >>OK >>Save.

To link to a bookmark on a different page:

>>select text or graphic to be bookmarked >> Insert >> Bookmark >> OK (bookmarked text or graphic will display with dotted underlines) >> Save. Open any other page >> select text or graphic >> Insert >> Hyperlink >> Specify the web page you want as the target of the bookmarked hyperlink from the folder list >> OK >> Click the Bookmark Button >> Select the bookmark you want >> OK >> Save.

Note: When your browser jumps to a bookmark, it won't position the bottom of a Web page higher than the bottom of the browser window. Jumping to a bookmark near the end of the page might not position the bookmarked text at the top of the browser window.
