Going Nutz - 2/9/2005 21:05:33
I've got 3 webs. Two I have no problems with. This one www.AOBTA.org drives me nuts. The text on my browser is jumbled all across the page yet looks fine on another computer. Now I can't get the web to open. Why would this one be so screwed up and not the others?

It did look fine on my IE 6 but now some pages do not. What does "Server error:Web<Root Web> is busy. Please try again" mean?

A contributory factor: the majority of your page path statements contain Upper Case letters and/or spaces which UNIX servers have difficulty interpreting. Change this and your problems may settle down.

I don't even know what a "page path statement" is! Guess I need to spend hours on a course for the few hours I do work with FP 2002.

I did some research and found that for "Server Error: Web <Root Web> is busy" might be cause by a drooped conection during publishing and that the cure is to go to /www/-vti-pvt and remove "service.1ck." However, I have no clue how to do that! Time to start recreational drinking I guess!

I work on my site "live" and right now it's been opening for 15 minutes and still not open.

This is what Larry meant by "page path" - the part in bold.

it is a good, general practice when working on the net to limit your file names to lower case and no spaces - the spaces become %
