Floating Table? - 4/12/2001 15:22:00
Hello,

I want to try and put a scrolling text box flush right and FP will not let me. I try and float a one celled table right but it only goes so far over. I have tried manipulating the table cell so that it spans different numbers of column etc. I can not get anything to work. Is there some code that I need or something?

Here is the page with the text box as far over as it will go www.yellowpages-nds.com/NewWeb/java.htm

Warning- the links in the scroller have not been changed yet so they take you to various sites!

Thank you!

Hi, Jesse -

I haven't looked (my ISP's provider lost a backbone and I can't get many places today), but why not right align instead of float? If the one cell table is inside another table's cell, right align that cell's properties.

LB,

I understand what your trying to say and I have tried that. For some reason I cannot get the table to align all the way over to the right. The same thing with the some of the text that I have been trying to use. It is as if there is some sort of hanging indent or tab or something not letting me do what I want.

I thought that when you float a table it is as if you are adding a layer over the top of the previous formatting of table and cells- is this not correct?

Hope you can help!

Thanks

Hi, Jesse -

Whaddayaknow... that's one of the few sites I can bring up besides this one today.

You do have an indent there. Decrease indent and it'll be all the way to the right.

Also, it's best not to specify your table and cell heights. With different browser text sizes, the table will be different heights.

I've used floating tables before, but usually they've been more of a pain than they're worth to me. (floating tables overlapping other content ...can't remember if that's just with liquid design or in fixed with certain browsers... just keep watch for that)
