Nicole -> Email problems (2/15/2005 2:54:22)

I use MS Outlook Express for emails, and my email host is ihug here in Australia, New Zealand actually.

I knew something was up with my emails as they were giving me "fail" messages occasionally, though upon retrying they seemed to work successfully the second or third time. So, I figured i just happened to be getting less emails for some reason all of a sudden.

I've just received a dump of 25 emails dating from Feb 3 until now and i'm furious, as i've been waiting on some of these email responses for my business. Before i call ihug and blast them, i'd like to know if anyone knows if anything else could've caused this, like if the problem could've been my computer as ihug had nothing listed on their website to suggest there was any problem with emails?

Do you use their webmail system or is it pop?
Im with Ihug as well, however dont use their mail system. Mail can be dodgy at the best of times, but I dont fancy your chances them owning up to anything.

Can I send you a gmail invite? :-)

POP!

I know they won't own up to anything either, but sometimes you just have to blast someone right?

I don't know about gmail though, what is it? It's Google right? Yes you can send it, but i'll need instructions.

Y'now i stayed with ihug for email and isp even though going with TPG for web and domain hosting, because i think ihug's help desk is second to none.

gmail rocks... web based just like hotmail or yahoo, but blazing fast, no graphical ads, and you keep everything you ever get or send...

I'm up to 165MB (17%) of my allocated 1GB

:)

Spooky -> RE: Email problems (2/15/2005 14:04:22)

Dang, Im only at 7mb [:o]

jaybee -> RE: Email problems (2/15/2005 16:36:08)

I'm at 0%.

What can I say, I can't get out of the habit of emptying it out. [&:]

Since I posted this original message, i've spoken with two people who are also experiencing problems with their email accounts, one with Bigpond and the other with Ozemail (along with Ihug, are among the biggest ISP's in Australia).

Could our email problems be related somehow?

Nicole

Gmail: 3% (26MB)

Nicole - You do have to remember, that some parts of Aussie Land are sacrifcing there connectivity for those in the outback to have a strong enougj connection, either that, or Spooky has it all re-routed to him[:D]

Your ISP should provide a HTTP login address, can you access the email via the web?
