I have a Excel file(Office 97) on a floppy probably got written over while some one try to burn a music CD. It will not open as "it cannot be accessed. " Is there anyone out there know how to fix the file? Since I have used the file recently, is there anyway I could somehow find a automatic saved copy of it in the computer? (I have Windows XP home edition on Compaq Presario.) Please help

Sounds like the floppy is corrupt. Never rely on a single copy on a floppy. I've thrown away hundreds of them. They just give up the ghost when you need them most. This is probably not going to help but if you're desperate..... It deals with corrupt files rather than corrupt disks. _____________________________ If it ain't broke..... fix it until it is.
