GIF/PNG transparent - 2/20/2005 11:46:14
Not sure when it happened or how. I use Frontpage 2003 for website designing. After a fresh load of system I don't have a problem everything works great. But some where along the line my FP 2003 gets a setting corrupted, changed, not sure what happens.
I just know that when I'm building a website on my computer, and what to have a picture on the page, and the picture is either a gif or png with a transparent back ground, the picture shows up with either a black or white back ground in FP2003. When I view the page on the internet the gif or png has a light blue background.
Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it so that a transparent background shows up transparent in Frontpage.

Welcome to OF.

Are these pictures you've set up yourself or are they some you've grabbed from the web and then viewing in FP?

Are you "saving as" GIF or PNG?

Depending on your software, you may have to "export" to GIF to keep the transparencies...

Also, if you're using any styles or CSS, make sure that the BG colors are done correctly, otherwise the image could be pulling the wrong BG color...

Also, IE has lousy PNG support... :), which is a shame.

Yes, I check all my images in 3 imageing programs and they will always showup with a transparent background in those programs. But when I Import of click the add image button in frontpage they do not have a transparent background.
