Wide screen laptop - 2/22/2005 22:53:18
I recently bought a great LG notebook with a high definition wide screen - to my horror (obviously didn't think too far ahead) My FrontPage opens with an wide page out of proportion to a web page. It is no longer WYSIWYG.
Where do I make the adjustments? I can't find a control in FP to change the page size - do I have to use a normally shaped monitor - of change the screen resolution???

What's your screen rez? Something like 1280 x 768 ?

Try just dragging the FP window closed a bit until it looks closer to 1280 x 1024 (or whatever you're shooting for)

You could even create a wallpaper image with a block on it sized to where you want your browser / FP / whatever to be and use it as a guide...

Now that's a widescreen laptop... you're hosed, man.

They only way you're gonna be able to "see" what most people visiting your website are seeing is to either change your screen rez while you're developing, or downsize your browser and Frontpage windows to about 1024 wide and "pretend" that's the whole monitor...

It works once you get used to it. I used to use the second method for creating pages that worked at 640x screen rez.

Sounds like a killer display though... how tiny are the icons on your desktop?

:)

Icons! mmm - you know they are there, just can't see them.

It is a LG LM50-CUWA can be purchased for less than $2500 in Oz.

Thanks for the tips.
