teletype -> FtP frontpage extension question (3/1/2005 11:14:09)

Hello, sorry guys ....I finally found out the new post button on the forum. Sorry.

Here is my question & problem. I didn't know that the frontpage that my boss was using had extensions and I uploaded a folder using ftp. Now, I know that it uses extensions and that is bad. What can I do now? Please help. Thank you.

ftp sometimes and/or often corrupts extensions - but not always - are things working ok or are there problems? if so, simply reinstall the extension and in the future use file/publish. no great harm is done <smile>

Well, i imported the .pdf file and that works fine. But the folder (lots of html pages) that I uploaded using ftp...which I am using the import for it now is taking a long long long time. It did gave me an error message and i couldn't see anything in the folder in frontpage only 3 of the 100 files. So I am trying to import it again...so far no error messges but it is taking a long time. Like 10 minutes for each file. So is that okay? Thank you.

Eeeeek...STOP!

Don't import!!!!!

It's a web designers worst nightmare is that unimportant thingymuhjig.

If you have a copy of the web locally, there is no need to import, just remove the current copy on the server, and use FP to publish the web

http://www.outfront.net/tutorials_02/getting_started/publishing.htm

That's a starting point for you. What version of FP are you using?

teletype -> RE: FtP frontpage extension question (3/1/2005 14:19:49)

Thank you very much! I am using FP2000 Version 4.0.2.6625.

Giomanach -> RE: FtP frontpage extension question (3/1/2005 20:31:56)

All you need to do is simply open the web in FP, the go File>>Publish Site - enter the username and password when prompted - and let it do it's work
