teletype -> FP extension installation Question (3/1/2005 16:44:06)

Hello All,

Thank you for all your help! Unfortunately, I need to re-install FP extensions. I tried to look up how to install them but the references I find doesn't fit my case because the guy who took care of the server no longers work here and I tried to contact him and he has no clue what I was talking about.

Please help.

Thank you!

First of all, you'll want a copy of the extensions to hand:

FPSE 2002
FPSE 2000

(I'd go with FPSE2000 ;)

Download which one suits your needs. You might need some guidance on the FPSE2002 version, as it has different builds for the different versions of Linux [;)]

Don't forget to get the fp_install.sh file - you won't be able to go to far without it.

You'll find all the current FP extension data in /usr/local/frontpage - I wouldn't change it to anything else, as this will just complicate things.

Run fp_install.sh - this should take care of most of the dirty, gritty work for you. OK, you have the extensions on your machine, but your not finished ;)

Browse to the following directory: /usr/local/frontpage/versionX.0/ X maybe 4 or 5, dependant on which version you chose above. In here, you want to run the Apache Patch, which, if memory serves, is change_server.sh - that should install the extensions as a module on Apache

That *should* be it.

I hope that's clear enough for you.

Dan
