lambert321 -> presto -- no publishing in Frontpage!! (3/2/2005 18:22:39)

Been beating my head against a wall for an afternoon over this: Installed FP2003 (had FP 2000) a few weeks ago with no problems -- and have been publishing to web until today. Now a message comes on and tells me that cannot find file "we80.cnf" . See uploaded image.

Anyone have any idea what this is and why it pops up now, after I've had FP2003 employed and working for 4 weeks.

If this is a simple simple solution, consider this: I'm a writer. Simple solutions often elude me.

Thanks,
David Lambert

we80.cnf is created in /usr/local/frontpage when you install the extensions against your root web. Sounds like your FPSE on your host have gone missing or got corrupted. If you have the option to re-install from your control panel then do it, otherwise contact your host.

Thanks, as always Jaybee. I'll go looking for the problem on the FPSE. David

Jaybee: Went to my server admin and found that Frontpage Server Extensions were indeed installed. Yet I still get the same publish error message.

Am I missing something? These servers went down for a couple of days last week and shut down the emails with it. Could the extensions not actually have been installed, although each admin site says they are?

They may be corrupt and need re-installing.
