Hi Millgate,I really have no expierence with this one. One that I use and have enjoyed for three years is here... http://www.storefront.net/ The best aspect is the support. Yes their company does a fine support job but the pearl is that they have a VERY active news group that just opens up your eyes on customizing. The NG also really bands togther for an excellent support tool also. Brian ------------------ Work hard, play fair, stay sane

Hello Brian,Thanks for the comments. I've downloaded a trial version of Storefront and created a single page blank FP2k site for it. Then I created a 'store' for the site, using the Import Wizard. Storefront generated a mass of files in my web folder - and did nothing else. Obviously I'm missing something - can you please give me a clue ? ------------------ Barrie E Millgate Resources

Hi,Sorry to keep you hanging there. There is a help file in the demo. If you can not find it then go here and use the online guide http://www.storefront.net/software/support/quickstart/intro.htm (the online guide walks you through all the setup questions and helps you create your store). Also here is a link to the users guide... http://www.storefront.net/documentation/doc_full.htm There are a few ways you can setup. You can use dynamic pages which is a template and then it inserts the product information from the database or you can use static pages and just install the "product bot" on each static item page. I, right now, am using static pages. However with the current revamp of my e-commerce site I am going to dynamic pages. The pro for me using dynamic pages is I just add a record to the database and the product is now "live". Helps on maintaining the site also. I have around 1000 products, not a lot, but enough to make me grimace when I have to change one item on 1000 pages. Let me know if this does not help, Brian ------------------ Work hard, play fair, stay sane

Brian,It certainly helps a lot, thanks. However, it begins to 'fall into the too hard bracket' as we say here ! Compared with what I'm being told/sold regarding vShoppingCart this sounds very complicated. I'll park StoreFront for now and let you know the answers and experiences I have with vSC. They're due to get back to me tonight, I'm told. Thanks again - stay tuned ! ------------------ Barrie E Millgate Resources
