CSS problem with new Host - 3/11/2005 19:38:09
I'm not certain what my problem really is, but the result is the background picture in my website css is not showing up. I just moved my website from a windows server to a linux server. I thought the background was ok after the first upload, but I don't really remember. Today I uploaded again after I added meta tags for description and keywords and now I know the background pic isn't there. Any ideas????

Thanks!

Marti

Sorry,

www.barisrestaurant.com

I *think* the problem is the difference between Index.htm and index.htm. I've got the background picture back, but now I've lost the banner...

Unix servers are case sensitive.

Index and index are two totally different files.

Be warned though. If you try to change this in FP it thinks they're both the same file and if you rename it in the folder list, tells you that it's already there.

The way I get round it is rename twice. First time from for example

Myfile to myfile1

then

myfile1 to myfile

That also takes care of the images problem and renames them in the code.

If you just use explorer to rename them, FP leaves the uppercase in the code as it thinks there's no change, even if you manually go into the picture properties and change upper to lowercase
