Any idea - 3/17/2005 3:59:22
I have had a website for a while now... but still do not know much about the teck side. Everything was fine until a few days ago when I tried to publish a new page on my website..... the little icon pages keept flying over as usual but they just keept flying and nothing happened. I have Front Page 2000 on windows 98. I have had Norton A.V.for two years.
I have also been experiencing a lot of frozen windows as well.
Anyone able to help me.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to OF.

Could be several things. Heavy usage on the host server is one possibility, Norton is another.

Try uploading during host quiet periods and also try turning Norton off while you upload. Don't forget to turn it back on again afterwards.

Just as an afterthought, have you run adware and trojan scans on your machine recently? If not, do so.

Symantec Norton Internet Security 2003 ...which I have updated.

Package includes
Anti Virus
Personal Firewall
Piracy Control
Spam Alert
Parental Control....didn't install this as I don't need it.

Yuk. That doesn't mix too well with Windows 9x at all. Try disabling the whole suite and then try publishing.

You're the second one in two days having problems with NIS. It's absolutely brilliant at protecting your machine. Mainly because it stops you from doing anything. :)

I had the problem also when we added Nortons Intenet Security at home. However I was able to work around it by using Jimco open web
