card -> Please have a look. All feedback is welcomed (3/24/2005 12:48:12)

Hello, I have lurked here for a while reading and learning.
Thanks for the info so far.
I have built my web using fp2002 via trail and error, viewing similar webs, reading books and forums.
I host my own web and admin a small network.
I am prepared to receive what I ask for, your opinions.

My have combined into one web what probably should be two separate webs, but resources as they are this is what I have.
I have tried to “kinda” separate the two subject matters with the way I have set up the links on the different pages.
All pages do have a link back the main page however.
There is only one link on the main page that takes you to the car section of the web. Please take a look and post your comments.

Thanks

overall, I liked the look in that I like white background..red and blue go well. Personally, I would have left justified the links in the left column but others may disagree. Question: is there any way to avoid using the suppiers web site? is that consistent with your business? or am i missing something. anyway, good job

Viewing in FireFox there is a problem with the images on the company information page.
In the first paragraph the two photos are on top of each other.

I find the two combined sites a bit confusing. But that may just be me.[:D]

Thank you, Dan

Did you go deeper than the main page?

There are some links that are "redirects" to the companies site so my account info go with it. Nothing I can do about it with out setting up an etailer site of my own and basicly adding what they already have to my site. It`s a bit much for me at this time.

Thanks, I have not been able to test with firefox.
Any thoughts on how to make it less confusing without completly seperating them into different webs?

Yes, I would break up that huge block of text which is really tough to read.

It'll push the page down but that will give you more white space and give it a less cluttered feeling.

The links on the left have been adjusted.
The problem with the images on the company information page I believe have been corrected.
Yes, the huge block of text on the main page is something that needs attention but I don’t have good solution yet.
I really want to keep the main page displayed so that all the info is viewable without scrolling up and down and let the links do the work.
I should have requested when I posted that you please reference what browser you are viewing with.

Again, thanks for the input. It is well received.

Then you'll need to make the text shorter. Take some of it out but break it up into paras as above.

Browsers? Take your pick.

Firefox, IE6, Opera 7.54, Mozilla, Netscape and Lynx. I use all of them.

Mozilla mostly. I sometimes use IE and, when available, Konqueror or Dillo.

By the way I can't access http://www.dcautosports.us/ for some reason. It could be the problem is in my end, I'm in the middle of configuring my proxy software...

Ok, the top left "main" logo and the center section where all the text was has been updated.
Opinions please and if something doesn't work for you let me know which browser you are using.

Thanks, card

looking good - some feedback on links would be nice - say remove the underline on rollover or change colour

golfer -> RE: Please have a look. All feedback is welcomed (3/27/2005 10:37:11)

Hi Card

Very clear site.

jaybee is right - the main block of text is overpowering. I can't be bothered to read it. Another idea is to bullet point the facts you want the reader to note.

You have a lot of links spread around and it clutters the page. Got rather carried away on 'hunt the link quiz' - 21 in total I think.

It may be easier for the visitor to search the site if they were in one area - say left side and put the picture links underneath. Dave comment is valid -take away the underlines. It will look much neater.

The link to your car web is obscure and if you had all the links in one place you could make it stand out a bit (different spacing or font or colour.

Link to home from Parts page is only at the bottom. It is a long page so you many wish to consider one at the top as well.

Hope this is a help

Thanks for everyone’s help so far!
I have made some changes to the main page (as per earlier posts) and again ask for your input/comments.
Does the page look balanced?
Is it an easy page to look at, colors, text etc.?
Do things display well in your browser?
And what ever else you can thank of. . .

www.dcautosports.us

As far as the rollovers and the underline, I don`t see how to change it ???
When looking at the "dynamic effects" the underline is not selected ??? I`ll keep working it.

On all pages, the "dcautosports header" (top left) gets you back home with a "home" link at the bottom of each page as well. Maybe I should add some in a different place.

The Z CarPage is off by itself on purpose (read eariler post). Not to say it`s a good thing.
When I post a link refferencing car stuff, it is to the Z Car.htm page not the sites main page.

womble -> RE: Please have a look. All feedback is welcomed (4/4/2005 5:22:28)

I found it much easier to read, though the links disappeared when I hovered over them. Are they changing colour? I have visual problems and couldn't make out a link there at all.

My only other comment would be that the links to the Amsoil site take you to their site with no warning that it's an external site, and me being a bit dopey first thing in a morning took a few seconds to work out that the back button didn't work becuase it was an external site, so I couldn't get back to your site that way.
