From time to time my computer would get the dreaded blue screen. In the past I could just hit ENTER and the screen would go back to normal. Occasionally I would have to reboot and that would take care of it. Suddenly today, hitting "any key" or rebooting returns me to the blue screen and I can't get my computer past it. I'm using my son's computer to post this. Any ideas on how to get my computer back to normal?

Does the blue screen appear before or after logging in?

I would check for a virus first, did ME have a safe mode? I don't recall... if so, see if you can boot that way and run a virus scan.

Second, check your RAM.

Download the tool here, burn to a disk and boot to it... it will test your memory for defects...

Me does have Safe Mode, but you have to have fingers faster than Maurice Green to catch it[:D]

yes, it was called "upgrade to xp"

Not really Dan....upgrading to XP from Me is like your experience of going from Home to Pro, not to be done via upgrade, but via a wipe & install[:o]
