Cookie question - 4/7/2005 10:58:15
I was wondering if it is at all possible to set a cookie with an installation program.

I am looking into being able to alert a user if their software is out of date and prompt them to download it. However, I don't know of any way to create the cookie outside of the website. And I'm pretty sure the only files the website can read off a hard drive are cookies (???).

I suppose I can keep track of the last version they downloaded but it is possible that they already upgraded without the website.

Is there any way to make this work?:)
