Another request, another question. I've done a search here, but didn't come up with much.

What are content syndication partnerships? I've been contacted by a company who is asking if I'd consider such a partnership. At first glance, it doesn't seem appealing to me though the company syndicates their content via XML to some huge, well-known national companies.

thanks again.

Go with content hosting or pre-sell pages instead.

Thanks, Dan. I did a search and found a similar, though less extensive post, from the same person. It was the only one which came up in my search. The way the original poster was hit upon by long-time outfronters, I felt the information wasn't viable.

Anyway, this company who contacted me and wants to do some advertising through RSS feeds on my site. I would, of course, get some type of payment from them. But I wrote and told them I don't know a hill of beans about implementing XML, so they wrote back and said they'd look into using html instead.

I have no idea how to approach this. My inclination is to just let it pass by and, if I so desire (which I'm not sure I do), seek more traditional forms of advertising such as display and text-link ads.

I have no idea what content host or pre-sell pages are. Where do I go to better educate myself about these things?

thanks, gail

Also, is it difficult to set up something like this at a website?

thanks, gail

Content hosting and pre-sell pages are one and the same. Let's say I had a site about knives and we were going to host each others content. You would add a page or two of content that I wrote about knives or my company on your site. From these pages - which are on content for knives - I would link to my knife site. You would link to the articles from several pages on your site - somehow working the link into the content.

I would then reciprocate from a third site. You don't want true reciprocal links - you want one way links.

These content hosting links are much better than general links.

Anyone interested? Send me a private message.
