dzirkelb1 -> Text appears bold? (4/11/2005 16:57:22)

For some reason, when I go to certain web sites some of the graphics appeared bold, when they aren't...they also seem much larger than they should be. I think it is with ie 6.0. Example...outfront.net appears large fonts, however, the forum page everything seems normal. My site www.msultd.com/kfc/login.asp appears bolded when it in fact isn't. It didn't appear like this until I installed 6.0 from 5.0 on this machine (running 2000 server).

However, on a windows xp machine with ie 6.0, it appears normal. Anyone know what causes this and why?

P.S. I didn't know what forum to put this on...feel free to move if need be :)

An example...if I change the font size on the msultd.com/kfc/login.asp page from 12 font to 10 font, it appears normal...but, I up it to 12, and it appears bolded and extremely large. (its currently 12)

In IE try View>Text Size and check it's set to medium.

Make sure the encoding matches your site encoding.

If not that then try Tools>Internet Options>Fonts. See what you have set as standard.

then look in Accessibility and make sure none of the boxes are ticked.

It all looks fine in Firefox but then I'm not 100% sure what I'm looking for.

I'm using IE6.0 today and it looks fine to me

The view>text size did the trick. Is there a way to ensure the font is viewed in medium mode? Because, in large, it was allll messed up.

generally best to allow users to go with their preference. think of it this way, if I have it set for very large (probably because of a vision problem) your page is unlikely to be the first one that my choice "messes up" and I already know how to deal with that.

Ahh, yup, that makes sense (sort of like javascript)...I'll leave it as is and just ensure when the appropriate people see it (clients) that is is set to medium :)
