New error message - HELP - 4/13/2005 12:28:11
Hello everyone, Recently, we've been getting the following error message when using FrontPage: "An error occurred accessing your Windows SharePoint Services site files. Authors - if authoring against a Web Server, please contact the Webmaster for this server's Web site. WebMasters - please see the server's application event log for more details." Here are some events that are triggering this error message: - We are unable to open recently saved files in FrontPage files.
- Some users are unbale to publish sites.
- We are unable to copy files to an open web.
Any help is appreciated.

Are you editing the site live or locally?

Hi Giomanach, The specific site I'm editing is on a test web server. The first time I got this message was after editing a file on the existing site. After saving the file and re-opening it, I continually get the error message above. I can't even open the file without getting the error message. By the way, I'm using FrontPage 2003.

Did you edit the site as is on the server, or did you use a local copy, and then publish it to the testing server?

The site is edited directly on the test server.
