publishing frontpage 2000 using ftp - 4/16/2005 13:00:49
I have just changed webhost. My new host used unix servers and does not support front page extensions. However I understand that I can use the ftp with front page to publish my frontpage 2000 website. (established site on internet for 6 years)
Pressed publish and it starts with a dialog box saying listing pages in ftp.
Then I get a dialogue box saying the file 'html/20031.htm exists on the destination server but does not exist in the current Web. Would you like Front Page to remove it from <Root Web>'?
Not got a clue what this means!! Not sure if I press no to the 512 promps or press yes to all.
If I press yes will my current web pages be removed? It says this for all 512 files created on the site.
Or would I be better downloading an ftp program such as cute and ftp my front page that way? My web host does not know anything about frontpage.

If the site you have created contains FP Components then you will need to use a hosting package with FPSE enabled, otherwise your web will not function to its full capability
