ymv13 -> Shared boarders nolonger showing on web (4/17/2005 16:52:20)

I use Frontpage 2002 to publish my site to my web space using frontpage extensions.

All was fine until my ISP had a major system crash and my site has been down for a few days. I had to re publish it, but now, the shared borders containing my own design navigation buttons (I don't use the standard choices provided by Frontpage) will no longer come up, which makes it hard for visitors to easily move around my site.

How can I get the shared borders to publish properly?

Any help very much appreciated as my ISP are just not interested, even though their problems caused mine:(

#1 Find a new host.

#2 Did you republish all pages, overwriting all on the server?

#3 Are the server extensions corrupt? You may need to get your host to check this for you (good luck).

#4 Try opening the site live using FP and deleting files off the server and then publishing again.

I tried to check whether your FPSEs were on and working but all I got was:

quote:

WWW Site: http://fp.ymv13.plus.com/
Port: 80
Server Software: This Web Server Does Not Disclose Identity
FrontPage Extensions: NO

Given that your host is also not very helpful, I suggest you follow step 1 above.

Thanks for the replies.

I am going to move hosts as soon as I find a suitable one for my needs. In the meantime, I want to try to get the site working.

I have republished all of the files overwriting what was on the server.

I'm not sure how to delete files from the live site. Please can someone explain how I do this. Is this in effect taking the site down from the server, so nothing is there?

Sorry to be a bit dense.

Thanks for the help and support.

Yve
