Question regarding two nics on same machine - 4/21/2005 11:41:02
On my web server, I have two nics installed which are connected to two different inet connections...both are static with internal addresses: 192.168.0.253 192.168.1.253 However, when I go out on the internet, it goes out on the 192.168.0.253 connection and I wish it to go out on 192.168.1.253 connection...how do I force it to do so? Actually, It only matters for two web addresses...I wish to open one address on the 0.253, and another on the 1.253... is it possible?

ISTR being able to force it by a workaround. This is how I remember doing it: 1. In the Advanced Properties of the TCPIP Protocol for the card on IP 1.253, tick the setting for Allow Other Users to Share Internet. 2. In the properties of the card on IP 0.253, set the default gateway to itself (192.168.0.253). At least that's how I remember it. I do all that in hardware routers now so I may be off.
