Closing html tag - 5/26/2001 20:55:00
I have a site and this tag has disappeared from loads of pages in it - every time I try to put it back, I save the file and bingo it is gone again!

The pages are all .shtml pages.

As a result the site is unviewable in Netscape - well not quite actually, the header table and the background show up, nothing else.

I have tried Tools>Page options> "Don't mess with my HTML" but to no avail.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Katherine-

I tried making several changes to an shtml page, published several times, and didn't see this happen. Oddly I did notice that in the Open File dialog box html pages have an IE icon and shtnl pages have a Netscape icon. Might there be a clue in that? Sorry I can't think of what it might be.

Thanks Millie - there probably is a clue in that but I am dammed of I know where it leads

This has never happened to me in other sites where I use .shtml pages - just this particular one.

Maybe rename pages to .htm make changes, save and then rename back to .shtml ?

Strange...
