Unwanted directory on search engine page - 5/18/2005 10:12:51
This is found on the page when you tell Yahoo to search for our website, any suggestions on how to get this to be hidden?

www.ricemachineryco.com - /new home page/
www.ricemachineryco.com - /new home page/ [To Parent Directory] 3/15/2005 11:09 AM <dir> _derived. 4/22/2005 10:50 AM 81133 3-JACOBSON V-BELT DRIVE.gif. 3/15/2005 12:01 PM 24558 62U Grinder.jpgwww.ricemachineryco.com/new home page - 19k - Cached - More from this site

When you open this it shows a list of my files and saved pictures and not the webpage that it is supposed to.

Thanks,
Julie

Hi Julie,

Welcome to OutFront Forums!

There are settings which can be adjusted to prevent directory listings like that. Either you (if you have access to the Control Panel) or your host can do it.

Good luck.

Welcome to OutFront!!!

I would either do it myself or contact your host. I would disable "directory browsing". This will take the page that you have seen away if an index page is not found in the root of each sub directory.

Take care,

Brian

Depends on server OS, Windows or Unix. Also if on windows what CPanel you have. I would submit a ticket to your host asking to go about it.

Take care,

Brian
