Frontpage Stalling - 5/21/2005 21:11:59
Hi everyone,

For about the last 3 days i've been experiencing problems with my Frontpage stalling. Mostly it happens in HTML view, but maybe that's only because that's the view i use a lot.

What's happening is the part of the keyboard where the delete and arrows appear just stop working, i can't switch between views but i can still type and backspace. I'm able to save my work and shut Frontpage down, re-open it and it works okay again for a while until it stalls again.

Has anyone else had a similar problem, or know any ways to fix this? Or do you suggest uninstalling and reinstalling Frontpage? It's been on this computer almost 2 years now without any problems like this before?

Nicole

Hi Nicole,

Is your keyboard wireless?

Take care,

Brian

Hi Reflect,

No, everything's attached to this computer, no mod-cons here!

It's strange because some other odd things have happened to this computer lately like this.

I've deleted and reloaded FP and yesterday it still stalled, admittedly I had a lot of applications open at the time and that could've been the cause. I closed a lot of things down and it seemed to work okay, but didn't seem to want to "publish web", although it defaulted to the right web and asked me for password information. It eventually gave in to me and did publish.

I'm just at a loss at the moment, luckily i'm now in a position to be able to afford a new computer as a back-up for this one should anything major go wrong with it.

Thanks for your help, i'll keep you posted should anything else happen.

Nicole

Not your week this week is it. :(

Cool you can get a new p00ter though, that is always a good move. :)

Hi Taz, and no it isn't my week!

On top of the already listed strange list of things which are happening, i can now report another.

Last night I noticed my website forms weren't working, no dramas i'd only last week updated my entire site and obviously forgot to check everything was in working order. So this morning I set about fixing the forms ....but.....

I've managed to fix 2 out of the 4 so far, but when left clicking inside the form it jumps to the bottom of the form and won't let me add text, boxes etc unless i scroll up or down with the arrow keys. Also, if i left click in the form area more than say 2 seconds, Frontpage closes down and i've lost everything up until the last save.

I know my mouse is a little bit dodgy lately, the left "click" sound actually vanished last week (not that it's an automated sound), but i actually couldn't feel a "click" when selecting something, so i think i fixed that by cleaning it as best i could, but surely this hasn't anything to do with FP suddenly closing down?

Does anyone have any ideas?

Nicole

p.s. I've just opened FP again and two different files from different webs, just ordinary pages, no forms, and left clicking for 2 seconds doesn't close FP down doing that.
