SwishMax vs. Flash - 5/23/2005 17:45:46
Hi all:

I am "investigating" the possibility of starting a new website.  As it will be a game type site (not gambling) I see it in my head as a Flash type site.

1. What am I "giving up" by using SwishMax for $100 over Flash for $500?

2. Learning curve.  How tough are these to learn and get good at?

I am SURE I will have 10,000 more questions if I go ahead with this!

Thanks!

I have both apps and prefer swishmax ( im lazy ). Swish kinda does all the hard parts for you, plus there are many effects already created. The new version has awesome scripting capabilities and you can even make flash forms to submit or retreive data easily.

My vote is for Swish...

Flash has a higher learning curve but is a better product.. What do you want to do ?

Look at the site im building. I did all the flash text stuff with swish in about 10 minutes. www.evilbar.com

Thanks.

I am looking to build a card game site.  With cards "floating in air", one card beating another and the "pot" moving to the winners' side type of stuff.  Right now, a very steep climb for me!

Flash is far more powerful... but for 8 out of 10 people you'll get everything you need from Swish.

From the sound of it, the harder part will be building the images for use in the animation... Swish should be able to handle the rest for you  :)

I have both programs and found flash much easier and nicer.

But if your looking into doing decent animations and have no clue what your doing, swish would be better since they have many effects ect.
