sptimer.mem file ???? - 5/25/2005 13:18:08
ok, this is a wierd one... I have a file on my web server (Windows 2003 Web Edition with FPSE 2002) located here: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\50 .... The File is sptimer.mem and it is 3.95 GB in size... It is taking up alot of my main boot drive... What is this file... why is it so big? Can I get rid of it? Any answers would be awesome...

.mem usually means a memory file..but as it's associated with Windows Servers....and it's nearly 4GB...I would say it's a back-up file of some sort.

I have also got a sptimer.mem file located in the same spot. It is 3.96 GB in size. Can you confirm if it is safe to delete this file or not?

Thanks

I deleted. No problems. But back it up first on another drive. Thats all I did.
