ContentSeed -> Fix FrontPage Issues (6/1/2005 12:17:37)

We've all had FrontPage refuse to comply with what we want;
fail to delete files, refuse to publish correctly, claim files are opened when in fact they are not, etc.

Experianced FrontPagers have always deleted the .tmp, .web, and other proprietary files to "clean up" FrontPage's mess.

Recently one of my fellow FrontPage MVP's has released a great FREE product that makes cleaning up FrontPage's act with just the click of a button.

Try it you're guaranteed to like it:

Related to cleaning up FrontPage, how does one find a pop up ad that has sneaked in with a 'copy and paste' or site counter etc. It is very annoying when one has a 'paid for' site.

could you give me the url to the offending page?
I could tell you if i can see the source code.

i can see why you don't like it. it's a pop-under and it's particularly insidious, because it's got this stupid javascript alert window trick.
very yucky.
I didn't see the code on the face of your page and there's no onload added to the body tag so i'm thinking one of the three outside scripts you're callign is doing it. they're towards the bottom of the page and they all look like counter scripts or something.
If i get time later i'll follow the url's and see if i can see which one is doing it.
in the meanwhile you could whack them one at a time, publish the page again and see if it stops. (that's a pretty simple method to find out). :-)
