Help! I can't view my files using FTP in my site directory. I don't know what to do. I use SMARTFTP currently but I also tried Cuteftp and WS_FTP. I can login but my site's directory/downloaded files are not showing up!!

Why can't I view my files? And why is it so slow to upload? CONNECTION ABORTED or something like that are always showing up.
Here's an example. (i think this means that the LIST or my directory can't be opened)

Connection closed. Timeout (20s).

I went to SMARTFTP site but some of those (tips) are not helping. Please, i need help. I think my host is getty irritating because I kept on asking her.
Who would like to help me even if I keep on asking?

Hi Kaila
It's very difficult to say what is going on without testing out your server access personally but by the sounds of it you may not be correctly understanding the FTP tools you are using (?) - just for a starters you could try accessing your server to see what files are getting there (or not!) using IE6 - "ftp.yourdomain.com" may work - or perhaps your host has given you other instructions about using FTP with IE6. If you get somewhere with this then it may just be a case of genning up a bit more on the FTP progs you have (I use AceFTP 3, as well as FrontPage, and have found it to be very good)
