Problem !!! - 6/7/2005 6:09:07
I'm trying to install a little map of the city. I had Norton Personal Firewall installed on my comp a while ago (didn't like it too much) :) But now I get a little error msg like this - C:/PROGRA~1\Symantec\s32evnt1.dll. An installable Virtual Driver failed Dll initialization. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

If someone can help i would appreciate it :)

... thanks

What OS?

If on XP go to start>programs>administrative tools>services. Scroll down to N. See what services are still there for Norton. If you have completely removed Norton then any services for it right click on and select properties. Once there under "Startup Type" select "disabled".

Take care,

Brian

Hi ...

I'm running a Win XP. I tried that, but i just typed "msconfig" in the run programs. After that I checked all the services and I did find a symantec service that was set to run at startup. I disabled it ... I still get the same error msg :). Can I do anything else ?? It was a symantec network drives service which i disabled.

Yeah I saw that :) that s how i found this forum :) which i m begining to like a lot :)

The link that sue is talking about goes to a symantec and they say something like :

Symantec Knowledge Base
We're Sorry ...

An error has occurred in the Symantec Knowledge Base.

This error will occur if you try to open a document for a discontinued product.

So i m still stuck.
