IE and FF cannot connect to any secure site like paypal, hotmail, banking etc. Well, I can connect, but get "The page cannot be displayed" when trying to login. All other sites are ok. Also canot get into MSN. Getting:"Sorry, we were unable to sign you in to the .NET Messenger Service at this time. Please try again later. 80072efd". Happened in the last few days. The two must be linked. I have tried changing IE settings etc with not effect. Thing is FF is doing the same thing. Tried to restore windows but says cannot restore and restore is enabled. Running XP Pro with SP2. I hope somebody can help....Thanks.

Do you have any kind of firewall running?

well it's strange you should say that. After trying everyting I can think of I disabled the Firewall but still no joy. Now, I have been having many problems with Norton FW and AV. The Norton AV caused so much grief and 3 reformats, I ditched it for another and now this. So I uninstalled it and that did the trick. No FW though, so I reinstalled hoping it would be ok this time...same thing and no config change etc. I now have another FW and both me and my machine are in harmony once again! Thanks for the reply.
