BeTheBall -> RE: Server Error: Frontpage Security Violation (7/12/2005 14:13:07)
|
Virtually every hit I get on Google makes mention of Apache or UNIX. Therefore, I assume GoDaddy has your site on a UNIX server. While this is not fatal, I personally think FP users have a much easier go of it if they are hosted on a Windows server. However, since you may be just fine with your host, I did run across the following possible causes of your error: The FrontPage SUID Keyfile Security Violation error message is generated by three possible conditions: frontpagedir/currentversion/apache-fp/suidkey.pid is missing frontpagedir/currentversion/apache-fp/suidkey.pid is not owned by root frontpagedir/currentversion/apache-fp/suidkey.pid is readable/executable/writeable by group or world (should have 600 permissions) If GoDaddy advertises FP hosting, they should be able to assist you. If they insist they cannot, perhaps a change is in order?
