Nicole -> Windows Explorer / My Documents Question (7/17/2005 3:42:24)

Hi everyone,

I've successfully saved everything into very organised folders under "My Documents" in this new computer, with the intention of saving them exactly the same into my backup computer and also into the laptop. I have the following questions:

1. Is it safe to delete the "My Documents" folder on my old computer and then copy the entire contents of my newly organised "My Documents" from the new computer to it in its place?

2. In Windows Explorer, I've noticed that not only do I have a "My Documents" folder, but in the "My Computer" folder, these files are duplicated in another folder called "Nicole's Documents". Why are there 2 directories exactly the same?

3. Will deleting the old "My Documents" and saving the new "My Documents" also change the folder called "Nicole's Documents?

4. I didn't create the folder "Nicole's Documents", I'm assuming that each user (if there were more than 1), would have their own directory, is that right?

Nicole

Yep, correct. Took me a while to fathom that one out

Not sure about the deleting folders bit (I always tend to get a bit panicky when it comes to deleting stuff, but I'm just paranoid about all my bits disappearing into a black hole [;)])

Nicole: you can safely delete my docs on old and replace it
