Browser bringing up old deleted files - 8/5/2005 7:52:15
Another strange problem (must be my day for them). I've made some changes to a page and uploaded it again to the server. The problem I had with the page was still there when I tried viewing it live, so in a moment of inspiration I tried 'view source' and it's bringing up a very old version of the page, so then I tried deleting the file from the server, and now it's definitely not there on the server....but, I tried going to the page live and the old version's still there!
Now usually when I make changes on the server, they take effect almost instantaneously, but for some reason it's still digging up a very old version of that file, despite there being no file with that name there now. I'm confused! Then I thought, well there's obviously a bit of a time lag with my isp, so left it alone for a while.
I'd tried all the obviously stuff like emptying the cache, clearing the history etc. - no effect. So after leaving it for a while and eventually I got the 404 file not found message. Great! The old file's gone! 
Then, tried uploading the new file again...old page pops back up again, and it's back to square one! Checked the 'view source' and it's still the very old file. Grrrr!  Am I being too impatient and should I leave it a while and see if my isp just needs time to catch up, or is there something I'm missing here?
