submission software - 8/12/2005 23:00:25
Hi,
I've been looking at different search engine submission programs. After studying the whole subject for hours I'm still not sure which ones are good and which ones aren't or what to look for.

Can submission programs be bad for the ranking?

Can anybody recommend a good one or tell me what to look for please?

Thank you
Mojo

That is because they are *not* needed. You will be better off to save the money for submission software and purchase some quality links on a site in your field. Actually, even a site not in your field will work for this purpose. What you're trying to do it have a link in a site that the search engines visit regularly. The SEs will notice this link and follow it to your site. Bam. You're in.

hmmm, now let me ask you this (i know this is probably the silliest question ever) ... i know of a company that has a 100% flash site, no text and no meta tags but made it within four weeks to the first page on yahoo and google (not the sponsored links). They can be found on countless of directories and search engines.
Didn't they have to use some sort of submission software to get there?

No. They would never rank that quickly just by using the submission process.

It is common for sites to show up in the results immediately after being indexed, but poorly designed sites (like your example) will probably not show for long - certainly not for competitive results.

If you ever do submit your site, be sure to use an email address that you don't mind using toreceive spam.

Also, don't pay more than $0.01 to be submitted to a search engine.
