Been upgrading so long, I've lost the original - 8/14/2005 18:00:48
I'm curious if anyone else has run into this and has an idea about what to do short of popping for :) $99 FOR EMAIL SUPPORT FROM MICROSOFT!! Flame off! :)

I've been using FrontPage since the first MS release (FP 95?). I've purchased just about every upgrade (one of the few products from Bellvue that seemed to offer something substantial everytime a new release hit the streets). I've got FP03 and am upgrading my PC from a P3 to P4 and when I got ready to move FP, I discovered that I can't find my original paid FP. I now only have the the previous release (FP02), which is, of course, an upgrade. So..... I'm stuck.

Anyone know a "work around" either to the upgrade problem or to dealing with MS without putting out $100?

I recently had to do a complete reinstall of everything on my pc.
I don't have my original FP disc either but the install went fine with a previous upgrade disc.

When it fails on the upgrade question put the old CD in and point to the root. This is how I got over it.

Take care,

Brian

With your help, I got it to work as follows:
1. started the install of FP03
2. in spite of ambiguous instructions from the install program (something about inserting earlier version of Office and no mention of FrontPage), I inserted FP02
3. After installation confirmed the previous install put the FP03 disk back in and installation was completed.

Again, thanks very much everyone.

KK
