Monkey Bargains? - 8/16/2005 7:01:59
Hi............ Has anyone ever heard of Monkey Bargains dot com? It has been recommended that I list my site with them. It costs about $300/yr. (1) I really haven't heard of them before (2) they only get around 200,000 visitors per month, and they list just about everything (they aren't a focused engine) The cost doesn't seem reasonable fot possible traffic ("assuming" the 200,000 is right). Anyone have any experience with them?? Thanks!

Good question! It was an original ad from them, that was forwarded to me by a friend, who said he had heard of it and thought it was worth looking into. From my perspective, that's not much info, one opinion is just one opinion, and my friend is not a web pro (neither am I). So, to me, that was like I received an ad sent to me direct by monkeybargains. But then, you can say the same thing about ads I've received from say, yahoo or google (both of which have been great for me). So who knows, maybe this is the next yahoo in progress.................... This is why I thought I'd try to find out if "the world" had an opinion, or if in fact monkey bargains was just another outfit trying to get going.............without a proven success record. Thanks!

Yeah, in the affiliate biz we call them coupon sites. I have no high opinion of coupon sites although I have never dealt with this outfit. Domain name has been around since 2002... http://www.betterwhois.com/bwhois.cgi?domain=monkeybargains.com Basically people will hit the coupon site via SERPs and PPC campaigns. They then locate the product they want with a coupon. Then the coupon site writes a cookie for that affiliate program and get anywhere from 2-25% commission for the sale. Take care, Brian
