IIS Server not responding - 8/16/2005 18:07:55
When I try to open my local IIS (5.1) web (located at http://d1/) using Front Page 2002, I get the following error: Could not find a web server at "d1" on port 80. Please check to make sure that the web server name is valid and your proxy settings are set correctly. If you are sure that everything is correct, the web server may be temporarily out of service. My local server worked fine about a week and a half ago and I don't have a clue what's wrong now. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, the task manager says that inetinfo.exe is running.

I can access the site using http://127.0.0.1. But I can't open it through frontpage because it requires a user name and password, and I never created either. I recently upgraded my norton systemworks, and it includes a worm protection feature. Do you think that could be the problem?

I figured out the problem. I disabled the worm protection in Systemworks and now I can open my local server from Front Page. Thanks.
