FrontPage 2003 Opens then closes - 8/24/2005 9:15:41
Hi people, i'm glad to see that there aresupport forums like this. If any one can help me solve a wierd problem then it would be much appreciated.
Basically, i have installed FrontPage 2003 on an XP HOME machine. It installed fine, but for some reason when i double click on the icon it loads up but closes straight away with no intervention.
It litterally stays open for about half a second then just closes itself. No error message, absolutely nothing. Any one else had a similar problem.

Welcome to OutFront mazyd2005!!!
I would look at the OSes event viewer.
Start FP and let it unload itself. Then click on programs, administrative tools, event viewer. Once there click on "system log" on the left. In the right hand pain, white area, you most likely will see a warning message (it has a yellow triangle next to it). Double click on the first one, by date being the newest. It most likely will hold the error encountered. Then just put that in as a search term in Google and see what it says. Also do the same at microsoft.com under support KBs.

I have looked in the logs and there isnt any entry regarding the program in there.
I am going to try windows update, see if thaqt does anything
Any other suggestions?

Is it a retail copy of FP? Sometimes you can be sold a dicey copy.
I would uninstall and reinstall it to see if that fixes it.

i have uninstalled it and reinstalled it. still no joy.
I think there may be something wrong with my copy then.
